From the Roots Dilla tribute album this is one of those samples that I heard for the first time and really displaced me from my current location and moved me to somewhere on a totally different solar system. (aka that Southbound Lake shore drive, to lower wacker at 1 am music.) But at any rate when the work starts to get heavy and there is alot to handle at once, I usually retract back to this mode in order to gain peace and to arrive at place of completion when its all said and done..

Sometimes you find your self forgetting that Black Thought is one of the hardest working emcees in Hip Hop. The Roots are not known for guest appearances, so Tariq is carrying the album on top of touring and doing Jimmy Fallon 5 nights a week, then touring and then going back to make The Roots Yearly album. Above is a friendly reminder that the first new school emcee to step to Black Thought, might have to re think their career choice.
